Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jee Young Bang is a fine art photographer exploring the genres of still life and place. She holds an MFA in Imaging Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York and a BFA in Painting from Ewha Womans University in Seoul. After earning a BFA in Painting, she went to Paris and attended Spéos Paris Photographic Institute, France, where she began to learn photography. She pursues poetic sentiments and esthetics of everyday life through observing and experiencing with time, nature and culture. She brings various approaches into her photographic work, such as, straight images, collage, drawing, or text.
